KITT 1990
INTRO JAM HAMMERS DRIVE AND READ ON - THROUGH THE YEARS TO KNIGHT RIDER 1990.
WELL LET ME TAKE YOU BACK TO 1986.
KITT HAD SUPERPURSUIT MODE, A CONVERTIBLE OPTION, AND THE T/A WAS IN.
THE SHOW WASN'T AXED AND CONTINUED.
IN '87 KITT GETS WRECKED BY SOME EVIL MACHINE AND IS REBUILT. KITT GAINS A GTA KIT
AND INCREASED STANDARD PERFORMANCE.
IN '88 KITTS DASH IS REWORKED SLIGHTLY AND HEADS TOWARD A CORVETTE PLATFORM STYLE
(ZR1 OF '95 THAT IS). THE T.V SCREEN AREA STILL MOLDS OUT AND THE VOICE BOX IS STILL THE
SAME.
IN '89 KITT GETS 5-SPOKE METAL FINISHED WHEELS SIMILAR TO '92 FIREHAWKS. THE TYRE AREA
IS NOW EQUALLY PROTECTED AS THE CARS SHELL.
SO IN '89 KITT WAS LOOKING LIKE A TRANSAM GTA WITH AN EXTENDED NOSE and firehawk WHEELS
FINALLY IN 1990 SERIOUS CHANGES OCCUR AS KITT IT DESTROYED BY AN EQUAL TO THAT HUGE
THING THAT WRECKED IT BACK IN '86.
REPAIRED WITH A K4000 STYLE FRONT BUT STILL HAS THE DNA OF KITTS NOSE. IT GAINS THE REAR
WING OF THE ALL NEW '93 FIREBIRD.
INTERIOR MODS INCLUDE FURTHER DASH EXTRAS AS WELL AS A HEADS UP DISPLAY SIMILAR TO THE ONE
ON THE K4000 BUT WITH NO VIRTUAL REALITY TWEEKS. KITTS VOICE MODULE GETS A 'BUPA' STYLE READ OUT.
BRAKES ARE UPGRADED AS IS PERFORMANCE.
CONTINUES TURBO BOOSTING AND SAVING FARMS FROM COWBOYS UNTIL '92 WHEN THE SHAPE IS AGEING
(I STILL THINK THE 3RD GEN IS HOT BUT STILL).
FLAG GOES BUST AND IS BOUGHT UP BY CHEAP TRADERS WHO SPLIT THE COMPANY UP AND SELL OF ITS
ASSETS. THEY TRY TO ADVANCE KITT BUT FAIL AND KITTS LEFT IN A HALF FINISHED STATE.
FLAG IS PASSED AROUND OFFICIAL HIGH ORDER FIRMS WITH DEVON STILL RUNNING IT. THEY BRAKE FLAG UP AND SELL OFF KITT AS
THE K2000'S TECHNOLOGY BECOMES COMMERCIALISED IN AROUND '94.
knight rider 2000?

What da hell did I do to kitt?
Well, the early '90s was cheap moulded cars with very ugly squarey mouldy dashboards.
KITT going through this process probably would have got exterior mods according to the
4th gen firebird concept a more curved interior (drivers area) with more graphic twitches
then L.E.D's and quartz displays. I also think that the K2000 was dressed as a T/A to prevent
overexposure(I'M talking in KINGHT RIDER NOW). Some funny car like the K4000 would attract too much attention and
that wasn't the point. A wolf in sheeps clothing I believe was. Hence My KITT seems descreet
(the ducktail is a bit over the top), well much more discreet than the K4000.
I'VE TRIED TO KEEP IT REALISTIC WITH REALISM AND T.V IN MIND (if you know what I mean).
It's a transam underneath, so things Like the doors, lights and all that are transam and not modified.
I don't think universal would have changed all these features as it would mean modifying the actual transam, where by
the original KNIGHT RIDER really just had a modified nose (oh no no, it isn't true!). SO to keep the pontiac sponsor
it would be noticeable as a
transam. Although, i get the feeling they lost that sponsor sometime in the mid - eighties (Transam changed to Black T-top)

AREN'T WE LOOSING THE PLOT?
Remember the original plot. A guy out for revenge in the finest car in the world. Classic plot.
But you have to agree throughout the 80's KNIGHT RIDER lost that plot. When they axed the desert ending (wilton knight
talking) the knight rider beat with no syntheziser, it all started to fade out. It's hard to revive the plot where KR2000
got further from it. Well, it's still a transam and it still has kitt in it. It still sounds right and it still goes fast.

PREFERRED COLOUR - THE CAR SHADES VERY WELL SO A BRIGHT RED WHERE TEXTURES DON'T COME THROUGH IS STILL COOL.
BLACK AIN'T BAD, . A maroon does make the car look really nice though,
OR a grey black for nostalgia.

You'll probably want to race against this car than in it.
Hey, just give it a try, and see what Knight Riding would have been like in 1990.

Just in case you're stupid, this car never existed, purely fictional to the second degree (never in reality, never in tv)
-MR-.
Take care now?
